About some of our artists:
Liz Antonoff-
Liz Antonoff is a Native of Athens who minored in art at Ohio University in the late 70's. She returned 3 years ago for personal reasons and has been creating stained glass art for sale at Themes and at local festivals. She specializes in horses and will do an individual stained glass portrait of your horse. Contact Themes for more information or to arrange a portrait.
James Robinson-
Seven years ago while attending graduate art school at Ohio University, James Robinson excavated over 2,500 "Athens Blocks" from the hills surrounding the Hocking River. Upon sharing this experience with others he soon learned almost everyone in the area has an "Athens Block" experience to share, and that they shared this experience with great enthusiasm. He met his wife Erin at Ohio University and once they graduated, the two decided to merge their ceramic studio and foundry together to create renderings of the "Athens Block". They did this to recognize and celebrate the historical and cultural connection a simple brick has made with the Athens community over time.
Robert Speer-
Robert Speer began working in stained glass in 1970. Largely self-taught, he continued to expand from rather simple to more demanding projects. Over the years he has benefited from classes with Joe Porcelli, Peter McGrain, and others. He has exhibited and won awards at festivals. Although many hours are spent working with glass and it is a passion of his, he insists it is only a hobby.
Robin Todhunter-
An Ohio native who now resides in Athens, Robin studied Fine Arts at Ohio University: painting and ceramics. Robin has exhibited in both group and solo shows. She is a member of The American Horticultural Society and the Athens Area Art Alliance. Describing her ceramic work: "Starting with thrown forms, I alter them with naturalistic sculptural additions or carvings of tree forms or ginkgo leaves. I have chosen process oriented approaches to art because they keep me in the moment and deepen my understanding of patience."
